Considering Channels - BeyondTV user

New to the forum and thought this would be my best place to ask my question. I am thinking on moving to Channels from SnapStream's old product 'Beyond TV'. I want to hear from other users that have made this leap and their thoughts. If there is a more appropriate thread on this topic please point me there.

Thanks for any help,

It's been a very long time since I used Beyond TV, but I think the ONLY area where Channels is inferior is that it doesn't support a disk pool as nicely as Beyond did. Channels saves all recordings into a single folder structure. Not a problem if you only have recordings on one drive. If you need to store recordings on more than one drive, you have to move them from the recordings folder to an alternate folder yourself.

On the other hand, most things are much better with Channels.

Thanks for your input. From the little information and reviews I have seen I do like the user interface. I read that the Hauppauge tuner cards are not supported, can you confirm this. I currently use two dual tuner cards that works great with Beyond TV and hoping this hardware would be compatible with Channels.

Think I may have tried Beyond TV years ago but don't remember much about it. As @jtanderson said, I suspect Channels exceeds in almost every way.

The real question is should you consider Channels over Plex, JellyFin or Emby. Short answer is yes. Channels is so much more flexible in many ways than those options and much easier to setup. The slow demise of TVE means you have to use certain 3rd party solutions (ADBTuner, EPlusTV, CC4C, etc) and/or OTA channels to get certain stations into Channels, but Channels is able to accommodate all of those whereas the other platforms are able to support in a more limited capacity (especially Plex). And the great new is if you like one of those other platforms, you can use Channels as a backend server to all 3 of those.

Unfortunately they are not supported, just SD and I believe Tablo V3 but not V4.
