Could developers finally enforce Gracenote to provide correct data

This is screenshot of my library containing “Strange Evidence”

According to Trakt and the TV Database and TVTime there is not season 6 at all. Even worse episode listed as season 5 episode 12 called “Underwater Godzilla” is in fact season 4 episode 7!

Am I the only one who find this irritating? Gracenote on their webpage ordered me to contact Channel developers so I am doing that here.
Not only makes this tracking show difficult but it’s also make DVR confused.
Since our 8$ goes partially to cover Gracenote fees I expect to finally be done something with this.

I can tell you are frustrated so I will try to be gentle. I see nothing you have provided that someone can use to help figure out what is going wrong. It's kinda like going to the doctor and saying nothing but "it hurts" and expecting a remedy. Maybe start with sharing how your episode files are named.

I just went to the Gracenote site. They plainly state that the user go to the provider. What could the OP tell you that would help? It's like the TV Guide being wrong all the time. Seems to me that this is a glitch that Channels needs to talk to gracenote about.

Good luck on your mission to validate your supposition. Everyone here knows it’s wrong. That’s why I’m the only one stupid enough to try and help you.

Lesson leaned.

It's possible that part of the problem might be related to your locale. Gracenote relies upon third-parties to submit data for areas it doesn't have coverage in (such as Finland), and perhaps Poland is also a region that does not have good data coverage.

Without details/specifics, it's hard to say exactly what is going on.

Also note: Trakt, TheTVDB, and TV Time are all user-submitted/community-sourced databases, whereas Gracenote is a commercial entity. I'm not sure community sources should be viewed as the "canonical" source when data differs.

My guess is that Discovery Communications/Science Channel isn't providing accurate guide data to Gracenote.

Same issue with some of their other brands/channels

Science Channel lists Strange Evidence as 5 Seasons, 53 Episodes.

TheTVDB agrees it's 5 Seasons, 53 Episodes.

You would think Gracenote and zap2it would agree with the Science Channel.

On a lot of these type (not an episodic serial) shows, I gave up trying to keep accurate Season and Episode numbers. It's hard to even get accurate OAD (Original Air Date). So I'm good with Episode Title, Episode Description and OAD Year.

The only time I have issues with these type shows is when trying to Import them into Channels DVR.

Some people here sure are touchy.
