Couple TVE questions

I have a couple questions I haven’t seen an answer to as I try to get TVE up and running fully.

-It seems like I can set source priority on every device individually. I’m guessing if I set something to record it will use whatever the primary source on the DVR server software is set to.

-Is there any logic that if I am out of tuners that will cause the app to fall back to the TVE stream?

-Is there any way to force a source for something in the app. Say for some reason I want to use the internet version of a channel instead of from the tuner?

Correct.

Yes. Both the app and dvr will use the sources in the listed priority and try them until it finds one that works.

Sure. You can either favorite the channel you want to use (because the DVR always prefers favorited over unfavorited when recording). Or you can edit the pass on the web UI and add the 6xxx channel number used by the TVE version.

One other thing I am seeing is differing channel orders depending on what source I have set as the primary for each client. Would really be nice to get the ability to just sort channel listings how we want. I'm not sure how that would work on a universal level since the DVR software doesn't seem to combine like channels like the device clients do.

The channel numbering comes from the sources in priority order. For example, say you get channel ABC from two different sources (OTA as channel 7.1 and Cable as channel 707). If your client has the OTA source with top priority, ABC will be listed as channel 7.1. Conversely, if you set Cable to have the higher priority, then ABC will be listed as 707.

Yea, I figured that is where it was coming from. Just kind of makes for an odd user experience if I set my mobile devices to use TVE and home to use tuners. Manually ordering would solve that.

Or just set all your devices to use the same tuner priority as the DVR server
