CPU usage / Device getting hot

Hello,

Both my iPad mini and iPhone 6S+ get very hot when I am using Channels on them. It also likes to drain the battery of either devices. It’s not something I will see with, lets say, Youtube or EyeTV app. Is this because some encoding/decoding is done in real time?

Yes, the app decodes raw mpeg2 in real time which is very CPU intensive. For the next version we plan to add a setting to reduce CPU usage by decreasing the decoding quality. You can also play SD channels instead of HD to reduce battery/CPU drain.
