I really like Channels, but am missing a couple of channels that are not available via TVE. However, those same shows are on other channels on different times and days. This might sound like a silly question, but is it possible to create a custom channel that will play recorded shows at certain times? For example, between 10:00 - 12:00 play recorded episodes of one show, then between 12:00 - 2:00, play recorded episodes of another show. My wife likes to watch tv while working and doesn't want to have to stop and search for a recording.
Virtual channels cant quiet do that. What it can do. And hopefully this helps wife.
You can setup a virtual channel. Then name it "Better Half". Afterwards you will add the shows she likes to the channel. It will then loop and play those shows 24hrs a day. If you only want it to play the most recent episode of each show you can use the "limit" feature within virtual channels.
But u cant make virtual channels play certain shows at specific times. Im sorry.
This would be a really cool idea. You could try adding it as a feature request
Thanks. I can make a couple of virtual channels with her shows, then create an automation to change the channel at a certain time.
Is that using HA ?
Right now I am using openHAB, but I am thinking about making the switch to HA. I have been playing around with it, but haven't made the switch yet.
