Custom Channels Question HELP Please

Hey Everyone - I have created a custom channel using the file ofhttps://iptv-org.github.io/iptv/countries/us.m3u. I used the M3u4u and narrowed the list of stations down to a small list. I believe I was able to create a guide file fro the same program. For some reason, I get the guide data for all stations except for: Classic Reruns TV, Folk TV EAST, TVS Family CHannel and TVS Nostalgia. There are shows I have watched on these channels that I would like to record, but I can't because there is no guide info.

Does anyone have any advice? What would happen if I just used the xml guide file that was provided for the whole M3u file?

Any help is much appreciated. Thanks again.
Scott

I doubt you will get much help on this considering that these channels are illegal...

Are you sure?? I could have sworn that it said that file was for the legal ones only. I also thought it was put together by one of the main people in this support group. How in the world can I confirm if it's legal or not? I don't want to get in trouble for anything.

Im not the expert, but I have seen the devs post on here that if you see OTA stations from all over the country as well as all sorts of cable channels you can bet 100% that they are pirated.

Okay. I hope others reply. I just looked and tv has a free live feed at watchyour.tv. Classicreruns does as well at www.classicreruns.com. Folk has a live feed as well at Folk TV Live. So I think these might be legit. I hope someone can confirm.

I don’t think those channels themselves are illegal.

I don’t believe that project maintains guide data for those specific channels. You can always type in the channel name at https://iptv-org.github.io/ and it will tell you if they have a stream/guide data for that channel.

For the Classic Reruns channel, since it is also an over the air channel, you can try to manually assign a guide source for it. There’s a table on this page that lists the call signs where it’s aired: Where to Watch - Classic Reruns TV

Here is the text for a custom channels for Classic Reruns TV. I saw there was an OTA out of Springfield MO and I found out that station's gracenote ID. Just add the streaming link address you found from your source.

#EXTM3U
#EXTINF:-1 channel-id="KRFTLD3" tvc-guide-stationid="79717",CLRERUN
https//:LINK_ADDRESS.m3u8

You just need to do a little digging to find where there stations are OTA and then find the gracenote ID.

You can find Gracenote ID by ZIP
http://host:8089/dvr/guide/stations/USA-OTAxxxxx
where xxxxx is zip code

Find Gracenote ID by station

Thanks everyone. I am going to try to take these steps. Not sure how to do all of it..so I am going to do my best. I love learning new things....did anyone have any ideas on the TVS stations that appear to be from watchyour.tv?

i use zaptoxml and created 3 accounts 1 for directv 1 for dish and 1 for local cable. directvt has most stuff. you dont have to choose what i did but on zaptoit website you find a cable provider that has your channels. then use zaptoxml app on windows and schedule to run daily. then i point them to app called xteve which brings m3u from m3u4 site. in xteve i can now orginize the channels map each channel to the guide that has it. and set custom logos for each channel.
after thats setup, you dont need to touch again.

then point channels dvr to xteve for both m3u and xml guide.

hope this helps

ps this gives about 14 days of guide
