I'm very confused by all Ive read on the forum here about moving recordings. I had ChannelsDVR record to a folder called /Multimedia on my NAS and it split TV recordings to a folder called TV and movies to a folder called Movies (I don't know how btw?). However I wanted to change this so that ALL new recordings are made to a folder called Recordings, so I went through the backup DB process as described.
So then I go to the client and it still lists all my recortdings but now nothing plays!.
So how do I associated the moved DB with the previously record files which still reside in the folders TV and Movies. Do I move them? If so to the new Recordings folder with the db or where?
You can’t do this. Channels DVR Server will always put tv and movies in separate folders.
You cannot move where the recordings are recorded. They will always be under TV and Movies under your root DVR data folder.
If you move them back to where they were, things will play back again.
Hi Thanks for your reply. The problem is they don't. I haven't moved them from the original place they were recorded too. ChannelsDVR says every one is "Playback Failed". This has happened after backing up the database and moving it to a the location.
Move all the old folders into Recordings, including TV Movies Logs Database Images etc
OK so I have moved TV and the folders that hold recorded shows into the Recordings folder along with Images DatabaseStreaming and Logs folders and tried again on the client . Still says "Playback Failed"
Does the Log tab of the dvr web UI show any errors ?
