Can we get date recorded added to the info for a recording? I have some shows like news and sports news shows that all recordings list the same date, presumably the date the series premiered (Pardon the Interruption list Oct 15, 2001 for all recordings). It is hard to tell if you are looking at today’s recording or a previous one.

I’ve noticed the same issue on The Dan Patrick Show…all episodes show the same date. Presumably this is because the guide data is incorrect?
I second the request for the date record on the info page. My wife is recording the Australian Open and is have a hard time determining which recording was recorded when.

Yes, the request is for TVOS. When clicking on a recording in Up Next, it seems to show the original air date of the series, but not the recorded date. I think that there might be a second enhancement where channels also displays the air date of episode as apposed to the original series air date. Having the recorded date is more of a priority for long running sporting events like tennis.
Yes, but it is the same in the web GUI. Most shows show the date the show aired however some news and sports shows that air daily do not show the air date but some random date. The date will be the same for all your recordings of that program. For example the show Pardon the Interuption airs weekdays on ESPN. If I have 3 days of shows I cannot tell which is the most recent and which is the oldest. In Windows Media Center there was an original air date and a date recorded. There was even a time stamp in the program details that showed the date and time recording started and ended.
Thanks. This is a known issue with the guide data. I think we can prefer the record date for programs with the New and Live tags.
What will this do to Up Next? Currently the latest recording will appear as the choice.
For those of us with multiple news shows having to use “keep 3”, at least we can quickly get to the latest (while ignoring the other 2 previous).
You can change the up next settings on the show to prefer newest over oldest.
Currently settable on Web Gui only? Or is this option on tvOS?
On Web, all of our 6 news/daily show individual recording dates, while correponding tvOS recordings only show the same “first broadcast date” on each of the recordings.
Is yours different?
EDIT: Ahh, now I see what you are referring to…The Web top level page has the “first broadcast date” (while I was looking at the detail), currently, tvOS on detail of show page…doesn’t show the individual recording dates.
Keep seeing this on 2 international channels i have. It’s showing the premiere date on all episodes thus I won’t know what dates they were recorded.
I still cannot tell when the shows are from, just seeing their series start date for all 3 episodes of a show. Not sure if I have today’s or not till I watch and realize I am watching an older recording.

Why is the date they were recorded important, when you have their airing date? If you’re recording New items, then they’re almost always certainly the same date. If you’re recording old items, what does it really even matter when they were recorded?
It’s showing the premiere date on all episodes thus I won’t know what dates they were recorded.
I’m having trouble understanding the workflow this is preventing.

So this is most likely to do with the 2nd line which in other shows are episode titles or numbers. In my 2 international channel, it has 2 lines. The name of the show and then below it looks like the date it premiered or first started. So all recordings for that show will show the same dates (which is the premiere date) instead of the episode number or title. Thus we are requesting if date recorded can be included to help us determine the date order of watching for this shows, especially if we have lots of them recorded.
The same date display for news shows, etc. is only on ATV, the web ui is OK.
What happens is, if a recording does not have a season/episode number, it is not shown. So it’s just Title/Episode Title.
If there is no actual episode title for a recording, it shows the airing date instead. That’s the logic that is used and why some recordings show dates.
Then of course, in some views it shows the Airing date for historical sakes.
We understand the logic, however it is confusing to pick the correct airing as they are all dated the same. Some of this confusion would be eliminated with being able to pick “keep 1”, at least for our home.
Others may have other issues, when the 3+ thumbnails shown (episodes w/out s/e info) and all have the same date, e.g. 1999.
The request is having a recording date, or someway, to differentiate between all the thumbnails, same as web ui.
