I had a couple programs scheduled to record yesterday evening. In real time they were actually delayed due to special news reporting which I was not aware of.
This morning I noticed there were 2 copies of the programs recoded. One that started on time and the other delayed to the actual start.
That is a good thing. But I never saw that happen before. Is that some new feature?
I have never seen this.
What channel and from what source?
It was CBS. Source was HDHomerun. I also recorded the shows on the HDHomerun and it didn't do it there.

You would have to look at the DVR log to tell what happened.
From the time it scheduled each one to the time if finished recording each one.
Were they both recorded from a pass, or was one selected to record manually.
It was a manual recording. Knowing I wouldn’t be here to watch live I went in earlier in the day and set to record. I have my recording set to start 5 minutes early and stop 5 minutes after. Normal schedule for that show is 7 to 8 pm. So the first recording was what I expected.
It appears the special news report finished pretty close to 7:30 and that is when the second one started. It was an hour long so it recorded the entire hour of the show.
I’m not complaining as that was nice that it did it since I got the whole program. Normally I would have lost the last 30 minutes or so. When I know ahead of time that a program might be delayed I manually add padding at the end. But not this time.
