When I put a movie in the trash inside channels it does not remove from disk. Is that normal?
Yes, this is normal behavior.
Items in the trash get deleted for good (and from the disk) after the amount of days specified in the settings:

You can also view/delete/restore what's in the trash from the DVR web UI
Library > Trash
And from a Channels DVR Client
Settings > Trash

Think of Channels' "Trash" like the Windows "Recycle Bin": deleted, but not really. (Of course, the Mac had "Trash" long before Windows, but who cares about truth and history any more.)
