Deleting recording jumps to a seemingly random selection

Using the AppleTV Channels DVR app, what should I expect to happen to the highlighted entry in the recording list if I delete the currently-selected recording? I do this frequently after I watch a program, and it seems like the selection often (but not always) jumps to a seemingly random new location, sometimes somewhere off the screen such that it looks like no recording is selected. When that happens, I need to navigate left to the sidebar and reselect Recordings for a recording to be visibly selected. This is more obvious when I have a long list of recordings, such as when I recorded a lot during the Olympics, and the highlighted entry jumped around randomly when I would delete recordings. From my perspective, I would expect either the recording before or after the one I deleted to be the new selection.

One theory could be that while the recording list is sorted by recording data/time onscreen, maybe the new selection is based off of some other sorting order, rather than just moving to either the recording before or after the one I deleted. Just supposition, but it's one option that I could imagine.

I've held off on reporting this because I was using a beta tvOS version for a while, but it's persisting into released tvOS 18 versions.

What you expect, is what it should be doing, and what I normally see.

In looking at your video, it looks like you're hitting a bug when the item being deleted is the last item in a section. (Sections are each block of days in the list). If you delete an item that's in the middle of it, I assume it focuses correctly.

We've looked into it in the past, but it was baffling to us. The focus engine on tvOS can be very very tricky. We can take another stab at this soon.
