Deleting Source From Channels DVR Through Shield App

Background: Running Channels DVR client on Android Shield Pro. Home internet is wi-fi only, thanks to the connectivity (lack of) options in my apartment complex - it’s Spectrum Community. I am unable to connect to the app through any other device via the IP address, thanks to the Draconian firewall permissions that I can not access.

With that in mind, last week I started getting “authz retries failed” errors on channels. Started with one, and now more than half of the channels available are affected. I know that I need to delete & re-add Spectrum as a source, but I can’t find a way to do it within the app itself. I can only deactivate / reactivate the source, or “refresh device” in the Manage Sources tab of the Settings.

So, wise & wonderful folks: is there a way I can delete and add back the Spectrum source through the app itself?

I guess you could try Firefox or other browser on the shield itself.

You may want to consider getting a router that will let you connect to the Wi-Fi as upstream, but still let you create your own network for your home so you have some privacy and control.

On that attempt through Chrome on the Shield:
“net::ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED”

And I would LOVE to put a router in place, but I don’t have any Ethernet access, just wi-fi.

You'd have to use 127.0.0.1:8089 from the browser

I think you could find something that acts as a Wi-Fi client and then plug that into a regular router. Perhaps https://www.tp-link.com/us/home-networking/wifi-router/tl-wr902ac/

Same error, for both IPs.

Chalking this one up to my horrible network restrictions - was able to log in using my desktop this morning, and deleted the source.

Re-adding it? That’s my next topic...
