I understand that PIP with a guide is difficult due to the customisations within FFMPEG. Would overlays be easier ? So FFMPEG would keep playing and the guide and menus would be overlayed at 20% transparency on top of the currently playing video stream ?
For me at least it's not about seeing the current video whilst I'm looking at the guide, it's more to do with the sudden lack of audio when switching to the guide is jarring.
