DirecTV Stream and TVE channel lineup?

It's nearly October 2025. I am curious if anyone is using DirecTV Stream as a TVE Source for their ChannelsDVR?

I currently am using FUBO for a TVE source but it is limited. That said, between using it and the OTA antennas, I can "get by." I like the FUBO DVR as I can late-start viewing a program while it is being recorded. Not all services allow that. But, the limitation is that the TVE channels are far fewer than what my regular FUBO package provides.

If DirecTV Stream's TVE channels could provide most of the content, I would switch to it. However, calling tech support is hopeless, of course. They know squat about TVE. The only way to learn this, it seems, is to sign-up for the service and experiment which is a hassle, as you know.

Does anyone know the DirecTV Stream TVE channel lineup? And does it include locals?

I have DirecTV Stream and connected TV Everywhere as a source. It misses the local Fox and NBC stations but that is with every provider since those are no longer supported under TVE. I do get local ABC and CBS from DirecTV. Anyhow, it is supported under TVE and just had to login using my DirecTV Stream account. One thing that did piss me off was fact DirectTV did not record the Steelers Vikings Ireland game for some reason. Thank God Channels did or would have hell to pay in my household!

Depends on your location. Maybe ABC and CBS. No FOX, NBC or PBS.

@TroyFarm , it also depends on your subscription package. I checked the DirecTV website, and here in the Los Angeles area, they show all of the locals being included in the Entertainment Package ($84.99/mo and up). KABC, KCBS, CW(KTLA), FOX(KTTV), MYTV(KCOP), KNBC, and three PBS KLCS. KOCE, and KVCR. Though, I don't know which will work with TVE.

These locals are NOT included in the cheaper "Genre Packs". I have the "My Entertainment" genre pack ($34.99/mo), and still managed to get KCBS to validate by TVE in Channels DVR. None of the other locals work for me. I'm not complaining, as KCBS really isn't part of my subscription.

If you are comfortable with running a docker container, you can pull in far more channels with Fubo than just the TVE source. It still has its limitations, but it is quite useful. See Fubo TV project for details.

Thanks... my concern is pulling all this in via the TVE method so I can use it as a "source" on my ChannelsDVR server. As I mentioned, I get everything I need on my Fubo package but Fubo doesn't provide all of what I get in my package via the TVE source.

I saw the Entertainment package. That's fine, but I want it on TVE, or some means to feed it into the ChannelsDVR Server.

Thanks! Wow. Isn't that useless, then? The entire point is to have some kind of "source" that feeds the ChannelsDVR server. I have the HDHomeRun units, including the now equally useless ATSC-3.0 (due to all the DRM malarkey).

This is a list of the channels which have validated as my DirecTV TVE source. I have the "MyEntertainment" package with the "MyCinema" add-on. I should note that authentication for DTV TVE has been intermittent on some channels, requiring occasional re-scans of the source.

Any channels included in my packages which I don't get by TVE, I am pulling in using the "Roku Tuner Bridge" project.

What is the Roku Tuner Bridge project? Does that "bridge" a Roku tuner to make it a "source" for ChannelsDVR?

My very basic subscription package doesn't include local networks. I was surprised to see that CBS authorized by TVE. There are higher tier packages or subscription add-ons which include more channels. News and sports just aren't my thing. So, the extra expense isn't worth it to me.

TV Everywhere is the simplest way to add programming to Channels DVR. Unfortunately, many channels are being removed from TVE and are only available through your streaming media provider's proprietary software/app.

One great advantage Channels DVR offers is that there are several other ways to bring programming to your DVR. When I had YouTube TV as my provider, I used ADB Tuner as a secondary source to fill in channels which I could no longer get through TVE. After switching to DirecTV, I began using the Roku Bridge for those additional channels.

ADBT and Roku Bridge use an HDMI encoder device and one or more Android or Roku players as tuners for Channels DVR. There is an up front investment for hardware, and a bit of a learning curve in setting up either of these methods.

NBC is one of the NBCUniversal channels that are no longer available with TV Everywhere due to DRM encryption. Regardless of which TV provider you subscribe to.
