After the last update, there is now always a prompt to either watch or record a show. Is there a way to disable this or bring back the older behavior?
Or perhaps always prompt at the guide but not the on now section.

You can use the Play button on your remote to skip the modal dialog.
Ooh, that’s nice. Thanks for the reply!
Any chance to get this reverted? The guide should just be click to play.
I love the Channels app! But I agree. Can you reverse that, play to bring up the dialogue and click to watch.
I think it’s fine as is. Click ‘play’ to play.
I agree with the others. Would much prefer to just click on the guide as opposed to having to shift down to hit the play button. Annoying to have to click twice or move down to the play button. Perhaps it could be changed so that the dialogue box only appears if you press the play/pause button.
The wife doesn’t like the changes. You know what they say about unhappy wife’s.
I heard my wife from the other room earlier complaining about it, too.
Agreed this “feature” sucks. Why add friction to a process? I watch more often than I record, 90 to 10%. Why on earth would the default be to ask me about the 10% every time I do the 90% action? Who records more than they watch? Why does the 90% require a new unintuitive method to by pass the extra step? (Suggestion - least common command should get non-intuitive action not other way around.)
Agree. Solve for the 90%, but always give the 10% a way to do something. Adding a simple configuration would make both groups happy.
This has been reverted in the latest beta! Clicking something that is currently airing now immediately plays again.
Thanks for the feedback everyone. We needed a way to let you record something that was currently airing, without having to tune into the channel. And we wanted it to be normalized across everything so it was easier to use.
Turns out it was terrible. We even hated it! So it’s gone. You can now hold down on a currently airing show to get the option to record it. In addition, the action menu you get in On Now while holding is a little better too, it works the same way across all of the filters.
Thanks!
Great to hear!
