My family won't accept a DVR that can't change channels via the number keys on a Harmony Companion remote, so which (if any) streaming clients can do this, and will Channels ever support such input?
Apple TV has no way to accept number input.
Android TV can do it technically, and the app supports it on the Guide tab but currently not in the video player.
Thanks. I might look into that. I think (though I haven't verified) that a bluetooth keyboard can type into search boxes on Fire sticks. If so I should be able to get the Harmony to emulate a bluetooth keyboard, which is half the battle. The other half is using it to type into search boxes within Channels. I prefer a Fire solution as I already have one on each TV, but I'll try anything to reduce our internet streaming.
