I am new to Docker but not to IT and am figuring out the best way to administer the platform. I am currently running eight containers in Linux Docker and do most of my administration in Portainer. With all my containers (except Channels) I download the latest image when it's time to update. That's super easy, especially in Portainer -- just a couple of clicks.
Channels is different because updates are done in the admin panel. It is super easy too and exactly the way it worked when I had it installed on straight Linux. I can pretty much see what's going on and that's super cool. However, I notice that the Docker container image is updated occasionally. For instance the latest image was updated 8 days ago.
So, my question is, do I need to keep up with these updates? The reason I ask is because other updates to various platforms are called out in this forum but I'm not seeing anything similar regarding docker image updates. I can certainly keep up with this myself and update when new images are posted. But, being new at this, I'm wondering if I'm missing something.
