Does Chrome need to be always loaded?

I have my Channels DVR running as a service on a Windows Server Essentials 2016 machine. It is a headless machine and gets restarted periodically for updates, changing out backup drives, etc.

If I use TV Everywhere on this machine, do I need to find a way to run Chrome as a service or is it only needed during setup and scanning for channels? I would prefer to not have Chrome loaded on a server 24 hours/day.

I could try to test this, but would like to understand before I start.

Thanks.

I'm not sure what you mean by "loaded". It doesn't need to be running always, but it does need to be installed so the dvr can run it when needed. It will get launched in the background in headless mode about once a month to reauthenticate.

Thanks, you've answered my question. By loaded, I meant running. If the DVR can run Chrome by itself in a headless mode, it will work perfectly.

Thank you so much for the quick response!
