Returning to using a Prime since SD Premium went away - combining the Prime/Cablecard 3-tuner device with separate QUATRO device and antenna for OTA. I noticed I have several "locals" in HD over the Prime, but as expected, these are the same exact HD programming as available OTA via QUATRO. These "clear qam" channels appear in the channels listings for the device, but do not have a "separate" listing in the guide as shown on my playback devices etc. Is this as expected? Are they just merged as additional sources for that "channel" along with the OTA ones listed?
Yes. ClearQAM does not provide channel information usually. On the Prime, channel maps are handled by your CableCARD or tuning adapter. If you are using the Prime with ClearQAM, then your channel numbers may shift when it runs background scans. (Those numbers in the 5000s are the tuner assigning a random number to a channel that doesn't have a mapping.)
