I installed Channels ATV Beta for tvOS.and I’m only getting stereo sound. Dolby Digital 5.1 works with the official Channels ATV app.

DD 5.1 stopped working again with build 8.2.109.
Hrm this is very unlikely. Can you double check?
At the bottom of the Settings tab, there’s also a “Test Surround Sound” option that will play something on each speaker. I just tried it and it works correctly.
I assure you that DD 5.1 stop working with build 8.2.109. I don’t know if it’s because I’m using audio pass-through, but the “Test Surround Sound” does nothing on my system. However, with build 8.2.2006 DD 5.1 is working again, but “Test Surround Sound” still does nothing.,
Very strange.
The Test Surround Sound option will download a ~3MB sample file from the internet to play… can sometimes be slow if your internet connection isn’t fast. But it should start saying the names of each speaker eventually.
Also confused why it stopped working for the last release, but I guess it’s good its working again.
Does it show a spinner when you click “Test Surround Sound”? Does it keep spinning or disappear?
Strange, if i use my harmony remote to select “Test Surround Sound” it does nothing but animate a button press, but if I use the Apple Remote it works perfectly.
