Don't need HDHomeRun

The app and other places say you need HDHomeRun hardware, but you don't. The language should be updated.

HDHR is needed for the paid app that is just for Live OTA TV.

On the main getchannels site, under How, I only see wording like Provide Channels with a source.
I am not seeing anything that says a HDHR is required....

Perhaps you care to explain and prove examples to what parts of the site you think need better wording.

For instance, on Android the app is called Channels for HDHomeRun but it is also the correct player app if you don't have HDHR.

The name of that app indicates it needs a HDHR. That app does not work with Channels DVR server (as far as i understand it)

The one you use for DVR (subscription based) is a free app called Channels: Whole Home DVR

Well, exactly my point. It's confusing. I believe they both work with a Channels DVR server, although I didn't think so at first, which is why I downloaded the HDHR version on my iPhone.

It does not work with the DVR. It is standalone and only for the HDHomeRun.

Not sure about Android, but either iOS app works with the DVR Server.
The for HDHR app works with the DVR Server if you have a subscription to it.
The Whole Home app only works with a DVR Server subscription.

The channels for HDHR app does indeed work with Channels DVR server, at least on iOS/Apple TV. Found that out after subscribing that the app still worked LOL. I ended up deleting it and downloading the Channels Whole Home DVR app anyway.
