I needed to access a remote server (TVE + Prime) and also a local server with SAT>IP channels. I ended up exporting the m3u list from the remote server, adding "?session=" plus the session id to each channel, and importing the list into the local server. Remote streams seem to start a little slower, but other than that it works great. Two questions: How reliable is this sort of double-jump server? Also, I've seen conflicting information about session id expiring after one month, or never expiring. Will I have to edit the m3u with a new session id every now and then? Thanks
Yes, this sort of setup is reliable. You may prefer to install Tailscale on both of your DVRs so you don’t need to use the session key to authenticate. You can access via the private Tailscale IPs without authenticating.
It expires in 29 days in my experience and is reliable
