When there is no comskip info available, i.e. for buffered live TV, or for recordings in progress or recently ended that have not yet been processed by comskip, I propose that double tap on FF/RW moves to next/prev tick mark on the timeline.
I would say a 3 minute jump instead of the tick marks. Send to be a good time for most commercials.

This prevents you from being able to execute many 30s/7s seeks in a row. You would have to wait a bit.
This ends up being really frustrating because when you’re trying to seek ahead or backward real quick, you jump to a marker and completely lose your place.
This is why we made the skip function only work inside commercial blocks.
I can understand this logic. I think things will be better when the scrub while paused functionality gets polished. If there is good friction around the tick marks then that will be equivalent functionality.
