Does anyone have any recommendations on how to get notified if the channels DVR server goes down? For example the other day i must have had a power surge that turned off my Mac mini that runs channels DVR. As a result I missed some recordings Ideally there would be way to be notified by email or (even better) SMS when the DVR server isn’t reachable. Any ideas how to do that?
In the power settings for the Mac, there is an option to turn on automatically after power failure.
Maybe something like https://uptimerobot.com/ and you could feed in your remote url (ie https://xxxxx.channelsdvr.net:8089)
Like TMM said, I’ve used uptime robot for years. It’s free and will do the job just fine.
