Dreaded remote access issue

Everything was working fine until I switched to CenturyLink the other day. Now all my remote access is hosed. Each time I try to remote access Channels DVR using my iOS app, I get the message 'Your Channels DVR Server at home can not be reached. Remote access is enabled, but we can not reach your server. Please ensure that port 8089 has been properly forwarded, etc, etc'. As you can see from the message I do have remote access enabled.

This is my setup: I'm using the CenturyLink provided Zyxel C3000Z modem with a Google Wifi router. I've set up port forwarding in the router for port 8089. If I go to check-host.net with my IP:8089, all connections time out. Looking at my CenturyLink firewall settings, security is set to low with mostly everything allowed. Only things not allowed are Windows Remote Management are Windows Messaging.

Because everything started with the change to CenturyLink, it seems that's where the issue lies, but I can't pinpoint what.

On a side note, I also lost remote access to my Plex server as well with message 'Looks like your server may be connected to the internet through multiple routers or other network devices'. I'm obviously not looking to solve that here, but I thought I would mention it in case it helps with troubleshooting the Channels DVR issue.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

On the CenturyLink router you need to setup DMZ to send all traffic to your Google Wifi

The CenturyLink modem currently has wireless disabled, so it's functioning solely as a modem. Do I still need to setup DMZ to my Google router?

Yes. It's not just a modem it is a router.

Ok, I enabled DMZ on the CenturyLink using the Google router LAN IP address. Still encountering the same issue.

Does portchecker.co show 8089 as open?

What IP did you use for the DMZ and for the port forward

Using my public IP on portchecker.co shows 8089 closed. For the DMZ settings on the CenturyLink modem, I used the private IP listed under 'Router LAN Address' in the Google Wifi network settings.

Edit: I'll be the first to admit I'm no networking guru. I'm only familiar with the basic stuff, so there's a good chance I'm doing something wrong.

Please list the two IPs so I can help verify. They should be in two different subnets

Public IP is 174.16.49.26 and the router LAN IP I used for the DMZ hosting is 192.168.86.1

The DMZ IP should not be 86.1 you need the IP assigned by the modem. Try the WAN IP listed on the google Wi-Fi, or check the client list on the Century modem

Ok. I will try that next. Thank you very much. I will also say that I just noticed in the CenturyLink settings that the IPv6 Firewall is enabled and traffic in is set to block. I was only looking at IPv4 firewall settings previously. Could that be an issue?

Ok, that last IP change for DMZ hosting fixed the issue. Thank you so so much for your help and patience. I really appreciate it!
