Dsm 7.0?

Synology has released DSM 7.0. Channels is the one third party package I have running on our DVR. Will it work?

(Also, your existing install will work without modification if you upgrade in place.)

Are there any steps to take to upgrade from the existing installation to the new DSM 7 compatible package? Or is this unnecessary?

I just upgraded DSM (was running the experimental branch of Channels). Didn't have an issue at all. Has been stable on DSM 7 for a few weeks now.

It is unnecessary for a simple upgrade. However, your server will continue to run as root. If you wish to upgrade your package and run a little more securely, there are steps posted in the linked post for how to change the install and migrate.

Correct. If you simply upgrade DSM, Channels DVR will continue to work and nothing is strictly required.
