Duplicate entries in library following imports folder reorganization

I used to have multiple Personal Media Import folders defined for TV Shows. I moved all of the files under a single folder and then removed the definitions for the empty folders. Next I did a Scan Personal Media. All of the files are stream links if this matters.

Following this change and scan, I now have two entries in my library for each stream link. I'm able to play the stream link. After playing it I delete the first entry and it goes away yet the second remains. How do I clean this up?

What do you mean by "removed the definitions for the empty folders"

Removed from the list of import folders. One can define as many as you like. The used to point to multiple SMB shares. Now just one for TV imports

OK. So if you removed it from Channels DVR Sources here

It will remove the Channels DVR database entries for those Imports.

That is what I expected. It did not.

Try a Prune Deleted, followed by a Rescan.

Tried that yesterday. Did not help

Can you find one that's duplicated and see what directory Channels DVR thinks they're in?

It shows them all in the SMB share that I'm pointing to. I see the duplicates in this listing.

The closest thing I found to Recreate search index is under:

Library Database Manage your library database

Maintenance
Regenerate search index

I still have the duplicates

TMM1: What do you think of doing this:

  • Remove the TV Show Folder which is an SMB share from my configuration
  • Delete all of the programs
  • Attach the SMB share
  • Scan Personal Media

Any risk and do you think this will work?

Your DVR storage location is set to:

\\nas.\dvr\DVR

Your imports location is set to:

\\NAS\dvr\DVR\Imports\Movies

technically this is wrong, because the Imports folders are scanned automatically.

so maybe you just need to remove your Personal Media settings and the duplicates will go away.

Yes, that was it.
