Sorry if someone else already brought this up, but it would be great to be able to enter the same provider from multiple regions. I've tried and I'm getting prompted with " MVPD already registered". Any reason why this is restricted?
How do you mean? Do you mean like multiple Comcast accounts, from different media markets?
yes, exactly that.
Are you saying you have homes in multiple locations that receive cable service from the same provide, but under different accounts?
In such an edge case, I imagine the best option is to pick whichever account has the greatest number of supported TVE networks. Because this would be such a rare occurrence, it's most likely the developers will focus their effort on other features that affect a larger proportion of the user base.
That is the current situation, and your answer makes complete sense. I was just curious if it was something I was missing.
Thanks!
What about things like local news and sports stations though?
Just bumping this, I have the exact same question. I have a second home in another market and a second comcast account. I'd love to add it to be able to get the 2nd home's NBC affiliate.
It wouldn’t matter because it uses the location you’re in, not the address of your account.
The same thing happens when you log in with these services elsewhere, which in many cases means it doesn’t work.
That’s why Channels works so well. Everything is set up at home, with the ability to stream while away, when the source is still At Home.
seemed to only check my location once when I first checked the box for local channels on TVE.
I could check that box from the remote location for the initial authorization.
