Duplicate Recordings

I’m fairly new to Channels DVR so not sure how to fix this, and hopefully it hasn’t been posted before (I tried to search for it but couldn’t find anything) I’m in Toronto, Canada and record the nightly news broadcast The National on CBC at 10 pm (local channel 5.1). This show is also broadcast at 3 am the following morning on the same channel and both are listed as “New” episodes. I obviously don’t want both recordings and only want the 10 pm airing. Since there is no “This Time Slot Only” setting (like my old Rogers cable DVR had), how do I get it to only record the 10 pm airing?

Many Thanks!

If you open the DVR web settings UI, you can find your pass and use the advanced editor to add a time slot.

Ok, great! That sounds easy enough. Thanks for your help.
One last question… what’s the web address for me to access the UI settings? lol

<your DVR’s hostname or IP address>:8089

e.g.: mydvr.example.com:8089

e.g.: 192.168.0.1:8089

http://dvr-shield.local:8089 should work for your SHIELD. Otherwise you would need to check it’s IP. It’s also listed on https://community.getchannels.com/dvr under your account

Ok thanks! Those links don’t open anything but I checked the IP address of my Shield and got it to work. Thanks very much for your help!!

Do I select “Time” under Conditions? And then?

Add:

Time CONTAINS 10pm

You should see the number of matching airings change, and you can click it to verify which things matched to record. Then save the rule when you’re happy with it.

Ok. I got it to work thanks! I had to use 22:00 instead of 10:00 for it to work. Thanks for all your help!!
