This problem is a little hard to describe, much less categorize. I have an HDhomerun Flex Quatro, which I'm using with Apple TV's. Trying to record a news show, "news at 6PM" kind of thing. Both the local NBC and ABC stations are owned by the same group here. NBC is channel 8.1, and ABC is channel 8.2. The exact same news show is broadcast on both channels, but sometimes on one or the other if something is going on on one of them at 6PM, sometimes on both channels. I've set up the pass for recording this show to use "any channel". However, the program is only recorded if it's on channel 8.2 (ABC in this case). If it's on 8.1 only, because something else is on 8.2, then it isn't recorded. So I miss the show occasionally, when I really want to see it every day.
Is there something about the "Any channel" setting that is wonky for this case? Why would channel 8.1 be ignored, and only 8.2 used if my setting is "Any channel"? The HD DVR does this right, and shows that it will record from either 8.1 or 8.2, while Channels only records from 8.2.
Any ideas why this is happening? Why would channel 8.1 be ignored if "any channel" is selected? Is there another way to be sure that I get this broadcast recorded? I could make 2 passes, one for channel 8.1 specifically, and one for channel 8.2 specificallly, but then wouldn't I get two recordings if the news show is on both channels 8.1 and 8.2?
Okay, I've done my best to explain this. Hopefully someone can give me some advice, or tell me if this is just a bug, and I should create a separate pass for each channel?
