DVR just quit

ChannelsDVR Server just quit - again.
I realized it wasn't recording and manually restarted it .
No errors prior to stopping:

Strange...something similar happened to me yesterday.

Same thing happened on my Pi a while ago. If you guys are having this elsewhere, that's interesting.

mine just quit also. it actually also randomly quit on Friday evening too. I found a single broken file in the /streaming/m3u8 folder. deleted that and it rebooted fine again and was working without any issue until about 10 minutes ago.

this is on a pi4 for reference.

Mine is also on a Pi4 using the Channels Pi image (2021.0224.1817). I didn't have the opportunity to dig around the system to see if there are any logs that show what happened. From what I can tell, it had finished a recording and hung up sometime during the commercial skip processing. When I went to watch something later in the day, the Channels app gave me "your DVR is not available" screen. I had to hard restart the Pi a few times before it booted past a twice-flashing green light. Here's the DVR log as an FYI...

There was an update I think Sunday Night and may have automaticly updated. This happened to me Sunday Night. Had to recycle power to recover. Mine stopped according to logs

At 6:00am my client Fire TV could not find Channels DVR. Even after inputting IP manually would not find it. I did a power reset then the client was able to find the DVR as normal without any input. So I came to the conclusion the PI OS was updated and needed a power reboot. Haven't had issue since.

my WD MyPassport HDD was popping random errors (that were all quickly resolved when I would disconnect and analyze with my windows pc) so i took the time to switch it out for a samsung 870 evo SSD. it's working perfectly again now and a bit more snappy to move around the menus (might be placebo but i'm gonna ride with it anyway!).

i also created a backup 250gb SSD so that if anything does go haywire i can do a quick swap and be back up un running quickly while i troubleshoot. probably an unnecessary step though.

A Y-USB cable solved my issue with HD power. Should have googled the issue in the first place. $3 dollar cable rectified my issue.
