I set up the DVR server on a ts4k with a 512 usb c stick. If I format the drive as fat32 it works fine but with ntfs or exfat I get a permission errors when choosing the location for the DVR. Is this a limitation of android or is there a work around. Also is there a way to setup a network share to import content from a network drive. As you can tell I've never messed with the android os. Thanks for any information or suggestions.
I'm not sure this is possible on the TS4K. On the SHIELD they modified Android OS to add network share and better NTFS support.
Ok thanks for the quick response. It works fine with the fat32 and I can copy enough content to the drive to travel with. I've been testing this for a few days while I'm home and it makes a nice portable all in one device
Beware FAT32 has a 4GB file size limit. OTA broadcasts routinely use closer to 5GB/hr.
That's what I was afraid of. I'm looking to use this in hotels when I'm on the road. I currently run the dvr on my laptop then login to the laptop with the client device. I'm trying to find a one device solution. Thanks for confirming the 4gb limit.
I believe exFAT is supported on the TS4K
Thank you I am able to switch the dvr to a disk formatted exFAT. I don't known why it gave me problems with the initial setup. Thanks works fine now.
