i noticed something similar last night during the update push. got buffer errors, a bad recording and a completely missed recording. a bit frustrating.
no transcoding for me though - just playback through a shield and an apple tv.

Logs look mostly normal. If you’re seeing bufferring errors just trying to watch TV, it indicates the SHIELD is struggling to keep up with even basic tasks for some reason.
On the DVR web settings page, what does it show under the CPU section?
i’ve never seen the load averages go above 3. currently it says:

Yea load is definitely not the issue then.
Does it show those buffering errors if you try to stream right now? I assume you have Tuner Sharing enabled on your ATV if you were seeing issues there as well.
