DVR recordings not available after installing new drive

I ran out of storage on my DVR drive. I am running on a MAC O/S. I copied the contents of the old DVR drive to a larger (2TB) drive but cannot access the content. I did have a misstep at first -- I started copying the drive before unchecking the original in the DVR Settings page. I stopped the copy, unchecked the location and recopied to the new drive. When I updated the link to show the new drive, it gives me an error. Unfortunately, the same error results when I tried to point the DVR back to the original one, so I have effectively lost all my recordings. I looked for a way to recover from backup but don't see an option to do that. Any suggestions are appreciated.

What is the error?

Thanks for the quick response. The message I receive shows the Channels multi-colored logo and says, "the connection to the Channels DVR had a problem. Press play to try again (transcoder).
I have also received the message "The media cannot be loaded, because the server or network failed or the format is not supported"

Thanks, I was able to do additional reading and now have gotten back my recordings a they are on the new DVR drive. This issue can be closed. Many thanks, Tom
