DVR Won't Import TV Shows

I am currently ripping The Office bluray to my PC, with the intention of adding it as a virtual channel in my DVR. I have/had this setup working with the entire Friends series, but for some reason the DVR will not scan my TV Shows folder when I add the correct path under the Local Content section.

Friends used to work, until I accidentally deleted the path while trying to fix The Office. Now when I add it back in, Friends no longer works either. In looking at the log file, there is no entry where the DVR engine is scanning either of my added folders. The paths are correct, but the DVR just refuses to look for any content in either of these folders. I feel like I am missing something really simple, but I don't know what, or what else to try.

Never mind, I guess I never noticed somewhere along the line the requirements for the folder structure on imported TV shows changed. I used to be able to specify sub-folders for TV Shows, but apparently now you have to just import one root folder and that's it.

It’s never worked this way. This is the proper way to import tv shows, as it has been the whole time.

Maybe in the past it somehow worked for some other reason

The show sub-folders are still necessary, but what you want is a parent folder that sits in the same relative position as the "TV" folder the DVR uses when creating its recorded files. That's the folder you add under "TV Sources". The folder you specify as a source should only contain sub-folders of shows you wish to be managed by the Channels Library.

What you have above should work fine by just removing the show sub-folder names and list the source simply as "/volume2/Plex Vol 2/TV Shows".

Haha, so weird I got it to work that way for a little while. Oh wells. Working swell again, thanks!
