I have some TV shows from another source that have an edl file. After adding them to the library, If I try to edit the commercials, it gives me the error:
Error retrieving commercial details
I know that I can have Channels redetect them and it stores the info somewhere else. Then enabling the edl export function, it can place the edl file in the directory. Is there a way to have it use the supplied edl so I don't have to have it redetect them?

If they already have an EDL why do you need to edit?
The editor only works with comskip log because the edl is the final output and doesn't have the required info to make edits.
Ahh... got it. Most of my recording are currently via Channels and I will usually do a quick review of the detected commercials before watching (especially if the wife is involved in watching!). I love that the interface is very quick and easy to use to adjust the skip points. I found that a few of the ones I add manually with the edl file are either off a little or missed a block of commercials when they were processed. Since it uses the log file in the editor, I can just have them manually redetected.
