Enable the Play button from the main TV Shows grid

In the TV Shows section you show a grid of each series with an icon/thumbnail for each. This allows someone to navigate their recordings. To play something, you click the select button to navigate into the series and then have the option of playing/continuing/etc.

Directly from main TV Shows grid I think you should be able to hit the Play button on the remote and have it start/continue the content for that series. If there is only 1 episode in the series it would just immediately begin playing it. If that episode had been viewed for 10 minutes, it would continue from the 10 minute mark.

This improves the speed with which you can get content going and reduces the clicks required to start playing content.

This exists for actual episodes, as it is actually playable content, an episode. Additionally, you know exactly what you will get.

With shows, it might be a surprise, leaving you somewhere you can't correct it. Where as, once you're in the show view (one click in), you'll see exactly what's going to be played so the expectations are set.

This was thought through years ago, and there's no plans to make any changes with it.

I was using Emby for a few weeks and they have this feature. I used it for playing most things because it avoids diving into the series. If you hit Play on the remote at the outermost level it plays the content and when you hit Back to exit the content you are brought back to exactly where you were. So that would be the TV Shows grid. No way to be confused as you are returned to exactly where you originally hit Play on the remote.

Additionally, if an entry in the TV Shows section only has 1 single episode, it is guaranteed what you are going to get. There is no ambiguity. There is one thing to play or continue. Impossible to be confused with the outcome of hitting Play on the remote at the outermost level in this situation.

some thoughts..

If PIP is on, then the play controls will control what's playing in the PIP window. as it should.
my issue is when on the show page, you must use the OK button to select the episode, which brings up the 'watch card' with "Watch, ..More, Trash" , then you hit OK on Watch. the only problem with this is that the 'watch card' does not autoclose and Back button returns to this.

When the 'watch card' is up none of the remote shortcuts will work, you must hit the Back button to clear it first. quite annoying when the PIP is active and you just want to toggle full screen.
