EPG Collector for international markets

Hi @maddox & @tmm1,

I gather part of the reason your limiting the DVR to north america markets is the source data for EPG and the rich information that can be added to it.

Im not usre if you guys have come accross EPG collector. EPG Collector is a Windows package for collecting the EPG data from DVB or ATSC streams in EIT, MHEG5, OpenTV, MediaHighway, FreeSat and PSIP formats and creating an XMLTV file. It can also import the data to 7MC or DVBViewer.

I've used this for many years and the great feature here is you can automatically add images and rich data descriptions from IMDB, etc for show details, etc.

It has active development and I'm sure could easily be used to collect data in the back ground on a NAS, PC or macosx? This could then be imported or selected as a guide source within channels app?

Please consider this for international markets!

Blind optimism on my part! Feeling somewhat frustrated also by not having access to a working solution in non - US markets. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

It’s time like this I wish I didn’t design buildings but write software.

If I could I would write my own DVR I would get it exactly how I want it. At least I can design my own house.
