Is there an EPG in Channels for those free local ABC News streams you can find on iptv-org and other places? I'm looking specifically for the New York and Detroit ones.

Why would you need that? Those channels are included with epg if you're using TVE (there extra channels that are free to view). If you don't have a tv service, just sign up for a free Sling account and put that in
Neither of those channels are on Sling.
I'm not clear. If I use TVE with my provider (Spectrum), I don't get those channels. I get others, but not those.
Those channels are included free with all tve sources including spectrum sling and all others. Check manage lineup in your spectrum source and scroll down to those channel numbers.

Yes, there are plenty of free streaming network news stations in TVE, but ABC Detroit is not there.
ABC New York is there, but there doesn't seem to be an EPG for it.
I'm looking specially for those two.
For ABC News New York, looks like it's the same as https://abc.com/watch-live/abc7-new-york
Try using this callSign or stationId for EPG
