Anyone getting the soccer game @ 4K??
Nope, that's been the complaint. Ever since we went Fox One it's a total crapshoot. I think there's something wrong with the container and 4K because it's not reliable like it used to be, or Fox One is throttling this. I haven't gotten any of the quarters and semis in 4k. I would assume we're going to have the same issue in a month and a half with CFB.
The old fox sports authentication always gave you 4K, but we had the other issue of commercials being inserted at 720p which messed up recordings.
@tonywagner If you're still around and maintaining this container, can you take a look at why we can't reliably get 4K feeds, and why Fox One will occasionally fail because it needs to be reauthenticated? Usually within a month or so the fox streams stop working and I have to reauthenticate to get it back. I think this always used to be handled by the container.
I believe a 4K fix is incoming...
I had no idea Dockwatch had this feature! Dockwatch is quickly becoming the "FastChannels" of container management as I get to keep shutting down other things that it replaces. There's just so many things hidden under all the menus...
Yeah...I was able to watchtower with it too. As it has notifiarr support, I didn't miss a beat. Some updates I want to manually install or at the very least delay until the middle of the night and dockwatch can easily do that for me. It can also restart containers if they become unhealthy. Theres probably some other stuff I haven't tried using with this but still its pretty powerful indeed lol
Maybe @bnhf can make a one-click button on olivetin for dockwatch
For a second, I thought that was the old game show channel BUZZR.
If anyone has a subscription to the Rangers package on BZZR, I'd be happy to take a look.
I'm not sure. I don't use Fox One and didn't contribute much to its code here, so I'll have to defer to others.
Would it be possible to setup a way to setup a direct login to a paid Fox One account along with the provider choices? I could let you use my login to test if I can get it to you securely. Thanks for your hard work on this project.
You may need to set up a different eplus instance for that.
How would that help? Currently I don't get a choice to use Fox One credentials just the list of providers.
Hmm...I thought Eplus worked with FOX One directly. So I guess that'll need to be added by @tonywagner
For now you can use Prismcast for the direct FOX One account. Just login and then have it scan for channels
That's unreliable for your Local Fox station. More than half the time it tunes Fox News for me instead.
PrismCast dev hasn't been around for over a month.
Ditto, I would not recommend Prismcast for local Fox.
They stopped showing 4K on the local fox stations and moved it to a separate channel. I will send a pull request that makes a linear (non-gracenote) station for 4k events. I don't know what happens if Fox and FS1 both have 4k at the same time with this setup though.
Edit: Issued the PR
I just tried it right now and it played it but I have heard the reports of it being hit and miss on that front. Doesn't hurt to try tho on @tonyk2342 end
If you want to record the News instead of the Game, go for it
That's what I get, but less than 50% of the time. The rest of the time it tunes Fox News.
That's not reliable enough to record from. (That's how I found out)
The new implementation i was working on for Fox4k doesn't actually actively pull the guide data needed to playback the channels. I will have to work on it more. Pulling the PR back.
It pulled it in my original testing because the game had already started yesterday. I have to see what needs tweaking moving forward. Probably will have to test during the next fox 4k windows (which will most likely not be until football season)
New EPlusTV version 4.16.0 adds support for BZZR subscribers (new Texas Rangers in-market streaming service).
