Experimental: Stream Links from the Guide via Custom Channels

Does anyone have links for CBS and ABC apps?

Looking for:
CBS2

ABC7
FX
FXM
FREEFORM...

This one opens the CBS app but doesn't tune to the channel:

#EXTM3U
#EXTINF:-1 channel-id="cbsTVOS" tvg-chno="7000" tvc-guide-stationid="10991",CBS
cbstve://live/KCBS

I've also tried:
cbstve://live/cbs
cbstve://live/cbs-tv

Ok, no help from anyone :(.

I figured out how to make CBS channels work on TVOS so here it is:

#EXTM3U
#EXTINF:-1 channel-id="cbsTVOS" tvg-chno="7000" tvc-guide-stationid="10098",CBS
cbstve://www.cbs.com/live-tv/stream/

#EXTINF:-1 channel-id="cbs sportsTVOS" tvg-chno="7000" tvc-guide-stationid="108919",CBS SPORTS HQ
cbstve://www.cbs.com/live-tv/stream/sports/

Can anyone help me find out what the links would be for ABC app on TVOS?
I cannot get anything to work.

Links work fine on Android TV with just a web link.

For anyone trying to get stream links that work for Amazon Prime on tvOS (as well as iOS and iPadOS), you can get a link from Justwatch and replace

https://watch.amazon.com/detail?gti=

with

https://www.amazon.com/gp/video/detail/

Example:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/video/detail/amzn1.dv.gti.9dfcdaa5-e72c-44fa-b528-46e56ec4f08e

  • Is there a way to find the Spectrum channels for MLB Network, Bally Sports North and Big Ten Network?

just found this post... for me on iPad 2 of the three work directly (doesn't open cbs app but starts playing within channels ... aka like the old days!)

cbstve://www.cbs.com/live-tv/stream/

this link does not work "directly" (opens and streams in channels like 2 below it) but on APTV it does not open cbs app nor plays like on iPad directly. in channels.. but super better if it just played directly... doest that make sense? error on aptv is unsupported protocol scheme"cbstve"

#EXTINF:-1 channel-id="cbs sportsTVOS" tvg-chno="7000" tvc-guide-stationid="108919",CBS SPORTS HQ
cbstve://www.cbs.com/live-tv/stream/sports/
plays directly on iPad without opening cbs app

PS does anyone have the protocol for opening
STARZ app?
showtime is now under peacock app (a refresher to open that app would be appreciated too)

and the granddaddy HBO (live stream) I still can not find... MAX app is merely library access but not current live stream....

thanks in advance

Sorry, but not really.

Are you sure it's not just tuning to the CBS Sports HQ channel (station ID 108919) via one of your other sources? Because the "cbstve://www.cbs.com/live-tv/stream/sports/" deeplink will launch the CBS app, it will not "tune within the Channels interface."

Send us more info, video or screenshots maybe?

I'm attempting to determine the coding needed to open the LocalTV+ app, but can't seem to make it work.

localtvplus:// and localtv+:// don't work. Any suggestions?

Don’t be surprised if that app just doesn’t support deep-linking (yet?) Very many don’t.

I must have misunderstood deep linking. I thought the "depth" was to point within the app. I just wanted to open it!

No, apologies if my reply doesn’t apply, I should have been more specific. There will be a way to launch it, I’ll see if I can figure it out.. But I wrongly assumed you’d want it to open to a channel! Sorry about that.

In the meantime this app “DeepLink” app has proven to be very helpful to me when trying out different launch shortcuts

Has anyone been able to open the PBS app on tvOS with a "DeepLink"?

Yes:

pbsvideo://

Thanks

I've been unable to figure this out from that app. It keeps crashing.

What crashes? The DeepLink app? That's weird. I've never had that happen, when my link attempts fail, the DeepLink app just sits there. When they succeed, the target app (like PBS or Fandango) either launch, or a permission dialog pops up its first time.

Since DeepLink is a TestFlight beta, you may want to report those crashes to the developer.

I tried a few variations for LocalTV+ and also wasn't successful. Since that app only works in Massachusetts and I couldn't dive in deeper. Maybe someone else will get further along to a soliution.

I have just lost my local Fox station in Tampa to ATSC 3.0 DRM (My antenna can't pick up the 1.0 station) and I can get the local live stream on the FOX app.

I suspect I can use Stream Links to put the local station back on my guide, but I am lost with all the back and forth.

Is that true? Is this still in Beta?

The stream link would need to bring up the fox app rather than play through channels.
If you want to watch fox, you will need to look at some of th eprojects in the group used to bring in content protected with DRM.

Has anyone collected every known and current Stream Link Station in a spreadsheet or something? If so, I'm quite interested and have a plan for it in regards to this:

I think that @Fofer started this Google Sheet in 2023. It would be cool if people could update it.
