I know this has been asked a few times over the years (myself included) and maybe there's some legal concerns about it, but couldn't you add a simple "Export all" option to have Channels save a compressed copy of every show in a different directory? The only option needed would be selection of quality. I know MCEBuddy can do that on its own but it doesn't make any sense when Channels can do it itself.
Plex has this Postprocessing Script option, with a full path to a program which processes the recording.
There's a lot of scenarios where exporting would be great: archiving, mobile file size, traveling, cloud syncing, backup...
