I’ve noticed recently that a handful of extra channels are being added to the Channels app automatically (not by doing a scan).
I believe that they are somewhat distant channels from a close-by market. I live in Rochester, could be Buffalo or Toronto, both under 80 miles away from me.
If I attempt to go to them, I get a “Tuner not available” message. When I re-scan, they disappear.
Any ideas?
The HDHR hardware will automatically perform background scans periodically. I don’t think there’s any way to turn this off.
If you go to the HDHR’s web interface (via http://my.hdhomerun.com), you can click the star next to these channels twice to hide them. That should prevent them from showing up in Channels.
Excellent…thanks. The extra channels are not currently appearing, so I will have to try your suggestion if/when it happens in the future.
EDIT…I was able to rescan and see the extra channels, so double clicked to put an X next to them. Should solve it.
