That script doesn't, but I think it should personally after testing. I mean, it's not uncommon to have in any of the scripts that we maintain.

If anything, it could just be an oversight. I personally think it's just a good guard to have. It doesn't really delay much. It just kind of cancels out if it's already awake. For the version control the standard is to just date them at the top of the script. But we also version them on Git naturally, just by opening a PR.

Also, you've done an amazing job of this. I didn't think anything would make me ditch my Osprey fleet until I saw this. Like four second tunes are amazing!!!

You actually can't; you should still pick Cox, but make sure your username is the one Spectrum expects. The providers that require you to select Spectrum are not ones that Channels gives access to, like NFL.

How many channels are people getting with LG Channels? I am only getting 192 and am missing a lot of channels like Best of Bobby Flay (which shows as one of their channels on this list).

Getting 190 LG channels and Best of Bobby Flay is not one of them.

That's showing 784 channels.

Best of Bobby Flay is available on Vizio and Pluto though.

Yeah, neither of those are great, though. Pluto is shit quality and Vizio has terrible logos and sometimes their captions are messed up (but at least excellent quality streams). I’ve gone with Vizio for now.

I really need an Impractical Joker's channel. If someone decided to do that, that would be like genius.
I mean, I already have all the episodes on my server, but it would be a tiny bit more convenient to just put on a channel that plays them at random.

Have you used the CDVR Virtual Channels feature before? I have about a dozen of them that get heavy use.

I should check that out. I usually just shuffle them either on Plex or within channels. But that actually sounds like a good idea!

Yes.

We use basic CalVer throughout ah4c. Is that acceptable? Basically the same system CDVR uses. We haven't bothered with a .HHMM for full CalVer, as they don't change that much, but we can add it if you'd like.

I actually have a question about the DirecTV bridge. So I noticed that it prefers the non DAI stitched version of the stream.

I'm wondering if you know you're someone like me and you have 10 tuners that you know generally aren't all running at the same time but could be if that could raise some alarm bells at DirecTV. Maybe flag me. Just a thought. I was wondering if there's a risk there and if maybe there should be an option to switch to the DAI stitched version for maybe better transparency when using the bridge. I was able to sort of get it to work last night. It was a pretty easy implementation. If anyone's interested, I can definitely open a PR to get it working.

I mean, Claude had it working in about five minutes. It was just a matter of getting YoSpace to work.

Edit: it's actually a little more complex than I thought, but I think I actually have something that might work and properly pass the correct DMA and headers and everything for proper ad insertion, which, hopefully, I would assume would look more like a web client.

@KineticMan I got DAI working with DirecTV I don't think it's me. I think it must be pulling from a different CDN because the picture is so much sharper, at least in my head. I don't know if I'm going crazy, but it looks so much better than it did without DAI. I don't know if they're just using a different CDN or something, but it looks like way better.

I can see the ad stitching happening, so I know it's definitely working, and it let me pull up several streams at once. I'm seeing local ads for my local area as well.

If it's okay with you, I'd like to open a pull request for your review, but I think this might be a solid addition as an optional thing. But I really think the picture quality is better. It's definitely clearer and sharper. I don't know that the bitrate's higher, but it has to do with whatever CDN they're using or delivering from now.

Edit: confirmed it's now pulling from their primary CDN, and that's probably why it looks just like my Ospreys did and not as blocky and compressed.

Looking at logging that I had Claude parse, it almost seems like it's dropping up and down in terms of quality on the other CDN. Whereas on this one that has the DAI enabled, it seems to be consistently at the highest rung. That could be what I'm seeing.

CalVer’s perfect—no need for .HHMM . One small addition so FastChannels can see the version: ah4c doesn’t expose the script files, so could bmitune.sh send the date on the trigger call it already makes?

It’s safe to add anytime; FastChannels ignores unknown parameters. Could you also add mackid’s KEYCODE_WAKEUP change in prebmitune ? Once those land, I’ll pull the scripts from your repo at build time, and the Bridge page will flag tuners running an older set.

I agree if it ain't broke, but I also made it opt in, and it is working incredibly well. Like, I, at least to me, am seeing a noticeable picture quality difference. And I also measured that CNN, for example, was playing at 720p yesterday, and now it's stable at 1080p, whereas it wasn't.

I have a test container up that I'm using right now, and it just looks so much better to my eyes. It's like I was going from macro blocking to just the great picture quality that I noticed on my Osprey boxes.

It could all be in my head, but I'd love to get some other eyes on it. As many eyes as possible, honestly, before you merge anything. I confirmed it's definitely using a different CDN path for sure.

My fear would be that pulling from the primary CDN could be used to monitor streams. I'd hate to lose the ability of having additional tuners available for limited stream users. If it's a toggle, we can test it then opt out if it does.
BTW, my old eyes can’t tell the difference with either. I remember when I first started watching ESPN3 college games. Though it was never crisp, we could al least get the game.
