FastChannels - FAST Channels aggregator/manager

With A.I. these days, I thought I would give it a try with Gemini.

My prompt:

Plex has a streaming channel called "Filmrise Music". What is its Gracenote station ID?

Gemini's answer:

The Gracenote station ID for the FilmRise Music streaming channel is 125301.
In the context of Plex and other streaming services, these IDs (often referred to as TMS IDs or Station IDs) are used to map electronic program guide (EPG) data so you can see what is currently playing and what is scheduled next.

Key Channel Details:

  • Station Name: FilmRise Music
  • Gracenote ID: 125301
  • Call Sign: FRMUSIC (typically used in XMLTV or M3U files)
If you are setting up a custom EPG or using a tool like xTeVe or Channels DVR to pull Plex channels into another interface, you would typically use this ID in the tvc-guide-stationid or gracenote-id field to ensure the metadata and channel logos populate correctly.

I have no idea if this is correct but maybe worth a shot? :person_shrugging:

Fun fact: it mentioned Channels DVR in its answer. :grinning:

I hadn't watched this channel. I'm glad that @Fofer mentioned it. Looks like there are some cool concerts and documentaries. :guitar::saxophone::musical_keyboard::+1:

RI fact check shows GN Station ID 125301 is invalid

[ERR] Failed to fetch station 125301: Invalid station ID: 125301

In summary, RI fact check shows that Gemini AI is incorrect.
Maybe ask a few different AI assistants and do a fact check.

What's "RI"? "Real Intelligence"?

Thanks for the fact checks that I was unable to do.

Yep :smile_cat:

If you can figure out how to add the SlingFree channel to Prismcast you'll also have correct guide data using GN ID 149158 (XMVFMS)
https://watch.sling.com/dashboard/grid_guide/grid_guide_a_z
https://watch.sling.com/1/channel/fe886f6ebfba45929fa34463893f89f8/browse

Add Sling TV Provider
Add Channel

Done :tada:

Of course this has to be done using PrismCast or something else because of the D*R*M

Can you share the Unraid template?

Hi: Thanks again for your service. It works well, and is much appreciated. Quick question. There are two channels that Fast Channels shows are available, and the stream is active, but I can't get these two to show up in my Channels DVR application. I have rescraped, audited, and everything shows fine, but they are not in Channels. The two channels in question that I would like to see are: Classica, and The Bionic Woman Channels. Classica is a part of the US East stream, and The BW is a part of the UK stream. Any ideas why they won't come into the Channels DVR program?

hey- did you include them in the main feed, or a custom feed to serve to CDVR?

I may have set up a custom feed but not realizing the implications. I started with Pluto TV and Tubi, but the channel count was beyond the suggested number. Can I just delete the custom feed?

yep just delete it and work on a smaller list. you can make as many custom feeds as you want to keep each one under 750 limit

I deleted the custom feed. Rescraped, audited, and checked again. No additional channels. Under feeds I selected "add to channels dvr" button but got an error that states: LOCAL Host 5523 says: Failed: Could not connect to Channels DVR at http://localhost:8089. Could this be a part of the problem?

yes, go to Settings and type in the actual IP address of your CDVR server.. this is what mine looks like.

Does this image come through?

I'm wondering if the docker auto detect address is what's populating, as I can't seem to change the address in FastChannels. How do I turn off auto detect?

Showing 231 from FastChannels (Pluto) under output Feeds, but 157 in Channels itself.

Just type in your IP and hit save?

I wonder if it is something else. I re-enabled one of the channels I had blocked in FastChannels, and it immediately showed back up in CDVR. Could Gracenotes have anything to do with it? Is there a proper place within CDVR to paste the url for it? I'm only using the XMLTV field for guide data. This may have nothing to do with my issue, but considering I'm getting most of the channels, I thought there may be another conflict somwhere.

How did you add it to CDVR?
Did you use the add to CDVR button in Fast channels?

I thought I had. I may have lifted it from docker
