Agreed that for Fox One and ESPN to be useful, both would need to be authenticated with your TV provider for Fox One and a Disney+ email for ESPN. The Disney+ email ties you in to ESPN Unlimited which includes linear, that's how my provider is linked. I don't even have Disney+.
great feedback - i'll DM you for some details on some.
Also for ESPN- my creds I used are from a Spectrum acct that must have came with ESPN Unlimited access. I'll see if it'll support TVE (Adobe) for next version.
that's how my personal acct works. are you guys saying you can sign into ESPN without espn unlimited? like, TVE style?
good lord it's impossible keeping track of all these subscriptions people have to go through these days.
I'm late to this thread, so sorry for the late reply. I was just now looking for "Custom Categories" and found this thread. Thank you for the feature that lets us change an incorrect category or move to a different one. I moved BBC Comedy to Sci-Fi so I could have Red Dwarf in the same collection with other Sci-Fi.
To further slice and dice a category, my example is that I would create separate categories for Western TV and Western Movies. This is the easiest exception to explain at the moment..
Yeah...not all providers supply ESPN Unlimited but they do suppy access to the ESPN channels depending on the package they got
For example, Sling Essentials give you ESPN and ESPN2 access. Its probably useful to get that in FC as Sling has a viewer stupid limit on those channels (1 or 2 connections?)
I looked into this. The list I scrape is their web version, and the apsatv one looks like it comes from their TV OS Version. I tried to see if I could scrape that one, but requires some auth/headers/deviceID that only a LG TV itself has. May have to table this one...
Yep, that's the exact situation...

This is the same situation with FoxOne, NFL, and several more where there are both direct subscription logins and TVE logins.
cool. on it.
btw, i am testing the phone sign-in idea for some of these scrapers- works really good so far!
Android TV signins would work as well thats what the OG dev (RIP) of Eplus and @tonywagner did with ESPN, FOX and CBS Sports.
It reduces the insanity of going in each site inside the app and signing in manually at times
this!
Plus, you could go even further because if you are getting the code, you could open the webpage inside FC, do the response, pick the provider, and do the login, too. The only issue is that I think the code login method isn't as persistent and telling when it logs you out. I just had to reset my FoxOne tokens in EPlusTV this morning for this exact reason.
Good call — that's basically what I landed on. On development now: each TVE network (plus ESPN, FOX One and Discovery) can do "Sign in on my phone" — you get a link/QR (Discovery uses a 6-digit code at watch.hgtv.com/activate like its TV app) and sign in on your phone, no browser automation involved. "Sign in for me" is still there. On persistence: the sign-in is the same either way (Adobe ties it to FastChannels' device), roughly 90 days for NBC/FOX, about a year for AMC/ESPN, and there's now a "sign in again" notice on the network row and dashboard when one lapses.
This sounds great! I turned off my Built in Channels TVE stuff because of the new bot detection Spectrum has and I am hoping to try your new "phone login" hacks. Big Fan!
"It’s been a while since we’ve seen SteveIsTheDude — their last post was 10 years ago."
welcome back SteveIsTheDude .. lurking for 10 years!
i'll try to get this new version out this weekend
Welcome back! Well, thanks to FC getting HGTV, it saved a recording for me last night. Even though I had literally tested earlier in the day that the station was working with Channels TVE, it failed with error IDID-4000 when it attempted to record. My PLM Fallback Feed immediately tried the FC backup one, and all went well.
Pretty much all my Channels TVE Warner Bros. Discovery stations are now failing with the same error, with the exception of TCM/TCMW. My goal is to completely retire Channels TVE as a source, so I'll continue beating up on @KineticMan until my dreams can come true
Glad to be here! I like the Pluto service and this project integrates it into Channels perfectly… gonna install the beta this weekend, I like the idea of “impersonating” a phone…. All my spectrum espn logins work fine on phone… so yeah… make the browser say it’s an iPhone and lockouts fixed (?)
Is it possible to configure KTLA's live stream as a custom channel in FC?
I don't subscribe to any TVE capable services anymore. I still have Hulu TVE configured from the days I subscribed to it. But the only thing I ever use it for anymore is to watch police pursuits on KTLA. If I could somehow get KTLA through FC, I could eliminate the vestigial TVE source.
Maybe? Is it a free stream? Need creds?
Send me link and I’ll look
The only web page that I'm aware of is Watch KTLA 5 News Live: Southern California's Breaking News & Weather. Once you go to that page, you need to supply an email address and then click a link in an email they send. No password is involved.
My lame attempt to configure a custom channel was unsuccessful.
If only you could get the URL used by Channels DVR TVE

added support for this site using custom channels. will add to next version.
how many police pursuits happen in LA?
