Yep,was working, all others add fine. I did remove the Fastchannels from Olivetin removed all sources from CDVR and reinstalled via Olivetin, appears all my settings were still intact upon open Fastchannels again, which I thought it will completely remove all databases associations, but it didn’t. Anyway re-scraped all my sources and started adding feeds back onto channels, Roku was the only problem child. No biggie, I could always remove and try again, was just trying to do a new install, but not sure why it continued to remember my previous setting’s?
You'd have to remove the Docker/Portainer Volume fastchannels_db_data if you want to nuke all your previous work.
Thanks, will peak around my Docker Desktop and clear that out when re-attempting clean install again.
There was a Plex bug a few versions ago. Make sure your on new code too fyi.
Also if u ever wanted to clear out a sources channels, just disable the source and a job will queue up to delete all its channels.
The logic just brings channel back to life and clears that flag if it re-appears.
Hmmm... then I think I found a different issue (albeit minor and most likely not a real problem).
See in these CBS News locals in Pluto how there are two version, with one that is "local" region and "scraper lost", and one that is "US" region and fine. However, the "scraper lost" ones all work when I play them. I'm guessing that region "local" has been eliminated from the search, but a number of the stations are still sticking around.
Nevertheless, that's not the only situation along the same lines.
Here, there is no difference on the metadata that I can see, but one is "scraper lost" even though I can play it just fine, too. I'm not sure if these are just artifacts from various FastChannels releases or what, but there are other ones scattered around like this.
Of course, I know I could just disable and re-enable the source and clear them out, but thought I'd point out some stuff that is happening.
I think you're right-- that looks like some old channels prior to the regions addition that got orphaned. I def missed a migration step when I added that a long time ago.
Quick fix - run the Cleanup Inactive Channels program from admin/sources. I bet it'll find those and clean 'em up for you.
Does this mean I need to change the Region on my Pluto source?
It's still set to local, but that doesn't display when I edit the Source.
I mean it's working, so not sure I want to fix what isn't broken.
not gonna lie - I'm having a chDVRuser moment and honestly don't remember what I did with "local" as a Pluto region. I must have removed it for a reason.
I don't want to break your setup, but honestly might be best if you do move to one of those regions. You'll probably get some orphans.............. sorry
It's still scraping fine.
I'm pretty sure the only difference between east, west and local is the IP address sent to the pluto api, where local uses mine instead of a fixed IP override for east and west.
ahhhh ... question is - should I re-add "local" ?? curious if it gives different channel lists.
If you can't remember why you removed it, why not add it back (since that's what I'm using and it works).
See line 28 of app/scrapers/pluto.py
and line 53
probably can't hurt. I'll re-add next version.
@chDVRuser wouldn't that potentially duplicate regions though?
For example, if the IP was just to trick their API giving you east coast channels, and you have LOCAL and EAST selected (and assuming your local IP is eastern), wouldn't it duplicate the channels? I guess it'd make two copies -- one for EAST and one for LOCAL regions... Might be a user-beware situation.
I would only choose one
local
east
west
For me, local should include west
If someone chose them all (why?), then they get what they asked for.
Yep, see my previous post
I have only ever used Local...no clue on the differences, it just what was there. I am not East or West, i am Central. I always been confused when such things ask me for what programming side i want, since i no idea what is the proper one.
From a couple years ago in the original maddox Pluto thread
So...only the news/weather stations then?... I do not have any of those enabled.
Does not seem to change the line up for the normal FAST channels Pluto offers i guess.
So, it not matter i guess, for me.
Here's what I'm getting for Regional channels using local (in Sacramento)
