Feature Request - Conflict Resolution

I’d like to see a feature where Channels DVR alerts the end user to conflicts. Conflicts defined as 1 or more scheduled recordings will be skipped due to lack of sufficient tuners available to satisfy the request. I’m coming from Windows Media Center where it was made abundantly clear and offered help in choosing how to fix the conflict. IF you choose to activate a tuner for a live program, it should warn you that all tuners are already spoken for and offer a choice to abort the request. A UI that helps in resolving the conflict is just a nice to have, not critical. The most important part is drawing attention to the fact that a conflict exists so that there are no surprises when a recording is missed.

Search the forum to find the dozens of requests for this. It's not as simple as you think.

After changing my search criteria, I was able to find others that I didn’t see initially. The argument that Channels has no control over what other applications will do is bogus. It’s not technically untrue, but irrelevant. The expectation should be that Channels dvr knows what it (nothing else) is doing. If you choose to watch live tv through the Channels app, it should recognize that. If you choose to watch live tv from the hdhomerun app or some other application and access a tuner, that’s the user’s responsibility. I would hope that most people using a software application to dvr are tech savvy enough to know you shouldn’t be setting up recordings from 2 different application for the same cable tuners at the same time. If someone does that, the consequences are their own fault.
