Fire TV - Need All DVR Features

I just started the 30 day trial of Channels DVR. Everything that I see is pretty polished and works great. I am really looking forward to having the ability to set up recordings from within Channels on my Fire TV. Any word on when this additional functionality will be added for Fire TV?

Specifically, I am looking for this…

"Manage from your Couch

Start a recording, create a Series Pass, or delete recordings…right from Channels."

…which is a feature listed on the Channels DVR page.

We’re working on it and full DVR features will be available later this year.

Channels 2.0 is now available for Android TV and Fire TV with all DVR features. See https://getchannels.com/2018/06/26/unification-dvr-for-android/

Updated to the 2.0.0 version yesterday on my FireTV 4K. Now when I go to watch a channel, it shows the first frame of video and hangs. If I try to go back, it says that my video was paused and asks for confirmation, but Trying to play does not work. I have an older test version of channels installed and it still works. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the v2 app but no luck. Any ideas on what else to try? I believe the channel (CNBC) is an AVC channel. Trying an MPEG2 broadcast channel has playing video but v—-e—-r—-y s—-l—-o—-w. I am on Comcast/Xfinity. Playing a previous recording is also slow.

Which model FireTV 4K? Is it the pendant dangle or the older one?

Check to make sure your FireOS is up to date

It is the box (is that the older one?) model DV83YW with software version 5.2.6.3 (606753920) installed June 14, 2018 - looks like it is the second gen version. Maybe not using hardware decode with latest version on the app?

Try turning off the Surround Sound option on the Player Settings tab

Yep, that did it. Turned it off and am viewing clean video now. Stock ticker seems to be smooth on CNBC. Thanks.
