Firewall preventing connection to server

My wife was trying to watch something on Channels while away from home.
Opened the app and she selected Connect
Then a screen appeared with Troubleshooting or Connect Anyway.
She selected connect anyway.
Then she gets a screen saying something like firewall is preventing connection to the server.

Worth noting; a few weeks ago I used the transferring Channels guide and successfully transferred from an older Windows 10 machine to a newer Windows 11 pc.
Is there something(s) else I need to do to get out of home streaming working?
Sincere and huge thanks!
Jeff

Under dvr web ui settings > general > remote streaming verify that automatic or manual is enabled. If automatic was already enabled you will need to choose manual. Make note of the ip it says to forward to.

From here you will need to google how to port forward your particular internet router. Follow those instructions and forward port 8089 TCP to the ip from earlier. Reboot your dvr and your router and then test on your phone disabling WiFi and using cell data.

Ah yes...my old brain now remembers this a bit from the Channels install on the other computer. Since I have forwarded these ports before on the same router, is it possible I would just be changing the (new) IP?

Yes correct just change the ip. Remember to reboot as these changes rarely work without a reboot

Thanks for the help. Once I changed the IP addresses in the router app and rebooted we were good to go again.
Hopefully this topic will remain in brain next time this happens.
